About the Cascadia Wine Awards
Formerly the Great Northwest Wine Competition, the Cascadia is an annual international wine competition affiliated with Great Northwest Wines magazine. Though open to all North American wineries, each wine judged must use fruit produced from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or British Columbia. The wines are judged by a group of top wine professionals across the U.S., including winemakers, retailers, journalists, and educators.
2021 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Best Cabernet Sauvignon/Double Gold Medal
Our cabernet was lauded for its aromas of black aggregate fruits, vanilla, oak, and spice that lead to intense dark fruit flavors that linger on the palate. As best of class, our Columbia Valley AVA wine was considered the highest quality example of what a cabernet should be. Earning a double gold at the Cascadia 2024 Wine Awards is a significant achievement. This signifies that a wine received a gold medal from every judge on the panel – the decision was unanimous.
2021 Red Mountain Petit Verdot
Gold Medal
A gold medal in the Cascadia wine competition is another prestigious accolade for wines that demonstrate exceptional quality and character. It also signifies the wine met or exceeded the judges’ rigorous standards for excellence. Our 2021 Red Mountain Petit Verdot was applauded for its inky, big, full body. This Red Mountain AVA wine offers flavors and aromas of violet, black plum, and black cherry with a touch of spice.
2021 Red Mountain Last Point Reserve
Gold Medal
Our third gold at the Cascadia 2024 Wine Awards was granted to our 2021 Red Mountain Last Point Reserve. This Cascadia International Wine Competition winner bested other wines thanks to its beautiful harmony of vanilla and cocoa aromas, complex dark berry palate, and powdery tannins. It features a satisfying jam-like finish.

We founded Lone Point Cellars in 2019 to follow our passion for making handcrafted Washington State wines. In 1984 the property consisted of only 12 acres. We’ve since grown the estate to include more than 200 acres of fruit orchards, vineyards, berry gardens, lodging, and more. Our work has culminated in Lone Point Cellars gaining a reputation as one of the top wineries in central Washington.
